Southern Life Threads

I was born and reared in South Carolina where fried, the Bible, and football reign. Bred to be a fan-carrying lady, I headed west in pursuit of romance and adventure, but never lost my drawl and knew my soul was pure Southern. One Italian husband, a Master’s degree in Education, two globetrotting sons, and a zany foray into sales later, my inner compass points toward cooling Atlantic breezes, mint juleps sipped on wisteria-draped verandas, and tales embellished for generations to come. Equally at home in Marin and Charleston, grateful for our expanding bi-coastal community, I relish shared annual retreat experiences. The company is everything! Learn, grow and go!

Lowcountry Calls . . . Paving the Way Home

I co-founded the Southern Sampler Artists Colony/SSAC in 2006. Together, bi-coastal friends created a vital community in Charleston, the Lowcountry. Every spring, the Southern Samplers return Home to celebrate cleansing tides, savor soul food, and heel toe to a lazy beat. Our passion for discovery and belonging are captured in two Southern Sampler Artists Colony Anthologies.

Stories spun in belonging with a southern twist. The Bottle Tree, originally titled Kudzu Rising, was a finalist in the Novel-in-Progress category of the 2010 William Faulkner - William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition, and also a finalist in the Novel category in 2011. Home for Good, my first published novel, expands on the characters and story portrayed in The Bottle Tree.
